A short trip to Žamberk
In the foothills of the Eagle Mountains you will find the small town of Žamberk (about 6 thousand inhabitants). The city is quite affected by transit traffic, as the first class road number 11 leads through its historic center. In Žamberk, it pays to make a short stop and walk through the local sights, which are mostly located around Masaryk Square.

We will start the tour on Masaryk Square in Žamberk, where we will be immediately interested in the beautiful Marian Column from the end of the 17th century.
City Hall in Žamberk
The most famous building in the city is the local town hall, which you will find on every promotional leaflet inviting you to visit the city. Next to the town hall there are also two nice historical houses.
Historic confectionery house
At the western end of the square, you will find probably the most beautiful house in the city center, which now houses a patisserie.
Church of St. Wenceslas in Žamberk
Church of St. Wenceslas in Žamberk is the tallest building in the city thanks to its tall towers. The height of the towers is 72 meters. The church is nicely renovated and you will find it just west of Masaryk Square.
Aquapark Žamberk
However, the biggest magnet of the city is not the local monuments, but the outdoor water park at the eastern end of the city. You will find several water slides here and also one interesting thing, and it is possible to swim in the side river – Divoká Orlice. In addition to the monuments mentioned above, it is also possible to visit the Jewish cemetery, synagogue or small castle. At the western end of the town is the Tyrš Lookout Tower (Rozálka)
