A pleasant walk through the Elbe
Přerov nad Labem is an ideal starting point for a walk through the landscape of the Elbe – you will see not only the floodplain forest, the river Elbe, but you can also climb one of the local table mountains towering over the surrounding plain. Even in Přerov itself you will find several attractions, including a chateau and an open-air museum
Castle in Přerov nad Labem
The ideal starting point for a walk is the parking lot opposite the beautiful, but unfortunately desolate castle
Chapel of St. Trinity
In the park, right next to the castle is an interesting chapel of St. Trinity. Unfortunately, vandal sprays can also be found here
Church of St. Vojtěch in Přerov
Right next to the chateau is the local most visited place, the Elbe open-air museum. Now we set off on a yellow hiking trail (just a moment) overlooking the church of St. Adalbert
Views of the open-air museum
The path leads for a while along the open-air museum and there is quite a lot to see through the fence. After some 100 meters we leave the main road and along the green tourist route (Pilgrimage route Blaník – Říp) we go west, away from the town
View of Přerovská hůra
Now we have a longer journey along a dirt road with rear views of the Přerov Mountain (237 m above sea level), one of several table mountains towering over the surrounding flat landscape. We will look at it at the end of the circuit
Nature reserve Káraný - Hrbáčkovy tůně
Finally, we have the field behind us and we enter the floodplain forest, which falls into the nature reserve Káraný – Hrbáčkovy tůně. In spring, a lot of rare plants bloom here. Budečská plays through the forest, which used to protect Přerov from floods. In the forest you will find several ponds and sunny meadows
In the Elbe
After about two kilometers from Přerov Castle we come to the Elbe. Here we leave the tourist route and continue in a circuit upstream along the bike path
View of the Lysá nad Labem lock
We walk along the Elbe for about 1.3 km. In places where the lock begins to be seen on the horizon, the cycle path turns inland towards back to Přerov
View of Přerovská hůra
The road leads to the border of the forest and the field, so we had a view of Přerovská hůra from the other side
Bobinecká pond
Just before Přerov we leave the cycle path and follow the footpath to go around two interesting ponds. The first of them is Bobinecká
Pool Bottomless
Next door is the Bottomless Pool
Salvatorský pond
After bypassing the pond, we get to the main road and head back. If you feel like it, definitely follow the yellow hiking trail to Přerovská hůra. If not, after a while you will come back to the castle opposite, which is a nice Salvátorský pond
