Season
The whole area is is relatively barren to the rest of Nepal. Thanks to rainfall shadow of the Himalayas there are significantly less rain than on the windward side of the mountains.
The area can be visited and Mustang Trek undertaken during the whole year. The summer period of July and August has the advantage of smaller number of tourists. The problem may arise with transport between Pokhara and Jomsom.
Overcrowding
Among Jomsom and Kagbeni you can meet relatively a lot of tourists, because this part is common to the trek around Annapurnas. From Kagbeni is the number of tourists much smaller. The only exception may be the destination of the trek in Lo Manthang, where all tourists groups usually stay 2 –3 days and visit both the town and its surroundings.
