The administrative area of the entire Mustang, both the Lower and Upper is Jomsom. The vast majority of tourists start here their Mustang trek
- By air: From Kathmandu or rather from Pokhara to Jomsom (the fastest option, but it is highly dependent on the weather and in the times of monsoon often uncertain)
- By bus : the need to change the transportation several times, but the existing continuity of links reduces the travel just to one day. In the monsoon season is the travel also complicated by frequent landslides and some parts can be overcome only by foot or in jeeps.
