The highest slovak mountains – the High Tatras are the biggest tourist and climbing attraction all over the country. Their main 26 km long ridge practically does not fall below 2,000 meters above sea level. The highest peak – Gerlach (2655 m asl) is also the highest peak over the Carpathians. The main attractions are beautiful panoramas, mountain lakes, nice waterfalls and also local antelope – chamois.
