Travelling by plane

The only air link is to Lukla, renowned for its frequent bad weather and cancellations of flights. The vast majority of visitors flow through this way in recent years. But from here to Namche Bazaar you have to go on foot. It takes about 1–2 days, but it depends on the physical condition.

Travelling by bus

Nearest town available with buses is Jiri. But from here it is more than a week walk to Namche Bazaar along a demanding path through several passes.

Traveling on foot

The most classic way to get to the Khumbu area of Jiri is your own, see transport by bus Alternatively, treks from Makalu or from the Rolwaling valley are possible
