The Dauphiné Alps can be found in the Western Alps in France. They are better known as Écrins, which describes only the highest part of the mountains around the beautiful mountain Barre des Écrins (4,102 m above sea level). The Dauphiné Alps are considered to be one of the wildest parts of the Alps. Much of the mountain range is protected within the Parc National des Ecrins
