- ** Classic excursion circuit around the High Karakoram: ** This circuit is ideal in summer, when the Deosais plains (Pakistani Tibet) are passable. You will start the circuit at Astora below Nanga Parbat and cross the amazing Deosais plains and lakes of Seoshar and Satpara to Skardu, the center of the area. Skardu has scenic surroundings with Kharpocho Fortress, sand dunes and Khachura Lake. You can also take a trip along the Shyok River to Khaplu, where there is an interesting palace. Descend through the amazing canyon Ronda to Gilgit, where the circuit ends.
