The Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, mostly called only the Vysočina region, occupy practically the entire Jihlava region. It is the largest mountain range in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest. It is located on both sides of the historic land border between Bohemia and Moravia. The axis of the mountains is the river Sázava. Another important river is the Svratka. Here you will find not only beautiful historic towns, but mainly a picturesque landscape with lots of rock formations on the tops of the local flat hills.
