Stromboli is a small island lying in the Tyrrhenian Sea, consisting of a volcano of the same name, still active. The island is part of the Italian Aegean Islands. The base of the volcano lies 2,100 meters below sea level, the highest point of the island is the summit of Vancori – 924 meters above sea level.
