Jiřího náměstí is the main square of the town of Poděbrady. It is named after the Czech king George of Poděbrady. You will also find the Poděbrady chateau here. The square was founded in the 15th century. There are several cultural monuments – the Civic Savings Bank, the Old Town Hall, the Marian Column, the monument of George of Podebrady and, among other things, several confectioneries. The New Town Hall also stands here.
