Walk through the greenery of the mini zoo
The Botanical Garden of Crete near Chania is a pleasant green oasis in the middle of the hilly landscape in western Crete. On the walking route you will find citrus trees, olive trees, palm trees, herbs and exotic plants from different corners of the world, which perfectly show how diverse the local nature can be. The place is ideal for a quiet trip away from the busy cities and beaches, especially if you want to combine an easy walk with beautiful views and tasting local products in a local restaurant. Children will also appreciate that it includes a mini zoo, where you can find peacocks and ducks running around freely. There are also donkeys and turtles in the enclosure. The entire circuit is 2.5 km long, the entrance fee is €8 per person, children under 6 years old are free, otherwise €4.
