Virtually any means of transport can be taken in Nepal, as a sightseeing trip, although usually long and tiring. Outside the lowlands in the south of the country, the whole country is rich in dramatic scenery.

Car & bus trips

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

Almost every road in Nepal offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, hills and deep canyons. Beautiful views, however, are quite often redeemed by a long and uncomfortable ride. In memory will certainly remain pictures of old buses where people are carried on the roof.

  • Prithvi Highway: „Tourist“ road Prithvi Highway from Kathmandu to Pokhara  is renowned for the beautiful surrounding countryside with views of the eight-thousand Manaslu (8156 m asl) and Ganesh (7,422 m asl). The road leads most of the time along the river Trishuli surrounded by green hills and rice fields.
  • Siddhartha Highway: Very nice is the road from Pokhara to Butwal cut in steep slopes – especially at the end of the monsoon, when everything is pretty green.
  • Friendship Highway nternational road to Tibet is interesting for the changes of the surrounding countryside with increasing meters, however mainly on the territory of China.

Sightseeing flights

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

Almost any flight over Nepal promises an amazing spectacle of the local mountains, whether you fly a small plane or a regular flight.

Regular flights

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:
  • Even in the „big“ airplane you can enjoy very beautiful views, especially on the line from Kathmandu to Delhi, which offer a parade of one eight-thousand high mountain next to another and the sacred mountain of Kailash can be seen in the distance.

Flights by small aircraft

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:
  • Nepal is renowned for spectacular sightseeing flights over the eight-thousands.

Sightseeing boat trips

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

If you want to take a sightseeing cruise in Nepal, all you have to do is rent a boat in Pokhář and hang out in the middle of the lake. Here you can enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna.

Interesting funiculars

Petr Liška Wrote 20.01.2013:

There is only one famous cable car in Nepal that will take you to the sacred temple of Manakama, lying on a ridge from which you can see both the valley of the river Marsyangdi and Trisuli.
