Tour Sapa - Cat Cat
The most classic hike from Sapa

The most famous walk you can take from the mountain resort of Sapa (1,490 m above sea level) in northern Vietnam is the descent to the village of Cat Cat below the city. You will definitely be captivated by the magnificent views of the highest mountain in Vietnam – Fan Si Pan (3,143 m above sea level) and the valley strewn with rice fields. However, expect that crowds of other tourists will come here.
View of Fan Si Pan
The hike begins in Sapa and from the beginning leads along a side road leading to the valley south of the city. From the viewpoint there is a wonderful view of the massive Fan Si Panu massif.

Landscape south of Sapa
The green hills around are really very picturesque – they alternate with the fields on the small plateaus.

Descent to Cat Cat
The village of Cat Cat lies at the very bottom of the valley, so you will have a pretty long descent along a partially paved sidewalk (after you leave the road).

River canyon
The very bottom of the valley is occupied by a narrow canyon surrounded by steep mountain slopes.

Farm buildings for Cat Cat
Cat Cat is a small village, unfortunately mainly a souvenir. Emergency building blocks are lined with textiles for sale. As a result, we go through it quite quickly. Only hordes of black pigs, dogs and muddy rice fields with isolated buffaloes are interesting. For us, the secluded buildings closer to the river are more interesting.

Bridge over the river
The road continues to the bridge over the river. There is a sparse bamboo grove around.

Thác Tiên Sa Waterfall
The destination of the walk is the waterfall Thác Tiên Sa, which, however, is more interesting only after heavy rain
