Monumental temple of the three pagodas
In the historic city of Dali, located on the huge Lake Erhai, the biggest monument is the Chongsheng Temple with its famous three pagodas. It is a huge complex, which will definitely take you several hours to tour
View of the temple and the mountains
The beautiful view of the temple is from the driveway. The local plateau at an altitude of two thousand meters above sea level is crossed by the Cangshan ridge by another two kilometers.
Entrance to the temple
Count on more expensive entry (121Y), but they have free internet here at least.
Three pagodas
Through pretty gardens you can reach pagodas from the 9th century. The highest is 73 meters and sixteen degrees. It is quite a miracle that they are still standing here, because they have survived 30 earthquakes.
The most beautiful view of the three pagodas
The most beautiful view of the pagodas is of course from the lakes. Unfortunately, it is not possible to climb the pagodas themselves.
Wandering through the temple
From the pagodas, you still go straight to the mountains through one temple building to another. In front of us, temple no.2

From the vantage point, there is a distant view across the entire temple to Lake Erhai on the horizon. You climbed the stairs the whole 150 meters from the entrance and you are 1.7 km away, so it's a real walk
