Ao Wong Deuan Beach is one of the largest beaches on the island of Koh Samet. It lies practically in its center, of course on its eastern side, where there is one beach after another in contrast to the rocky west. Wong Deuan is one of the busiest beaches, there are several resorts, so in the evening there is a great choice of seating

Ao Wong Deuan beach

Ao Wong Deuan Beach is five hundred meters long, making it about the third longest on the island. There is a large pier from where you can go on boat trips or sail to the capital or port (if you do not want to take a road taxi)

Tide on the beach

The tides are significant here, perhaps most of all the beaches on the island – hence the super long floating pier. So at low tide the sand is really wide and at high tide the water reaches the tables of restaurants. Unlike other Thai beaches, however, you can still swim here at low tide.

Thai cuisine

In the local restaurants you can have classic Thai cuisine – various curries, seafood. In the evening, grilled skewers or sweet pancakes.

Refreshments right on the beach

If you feel like a snack and don't want to go to a restaurant because of that, just wait a while for a walk-through salesman. The menu is most often fruit, but you can also get various fried delicacies

Road through the woods to the next beach

The beaches located in the side bays can be easily reached by paths through the local grove. It is about 250 meters through the forest to the southern Ao Thian and even less to the northern Ao Cho

Trees on Koh Samet

Koh Samet is not famous for its completely lush vegetation, it is one of the rather drier islands. But sometimes you will find really majestic trees here. This is, for example, at the taxi rank behind the beach

Nightlife on the beach

As this beach is one of the busiest, it is quite lively in the evening. The beach is therefore suitable for those who do not want to be completely secluded, but also in a super busy place, such as the beach near the capital of the island
