Even in South America you will find a wide variety of accommodation from luxury hotels to very poor dirty accommodation for a few ten crowns per night. Of course, cheap accommodation is usually not on booking websites. In each city you can ask locals or taxi drivers for „alojamiento barato“ if you travel by low cost. In the mountains, of course, you can sleep almost anywhere in the tent.
