Ascent along the Stations of the Cross
Vyskeř Hill (466 m above sea level) lies on a low-traffic tourist road connecting the Žehrovka valley with Hruboskalsko. Most tourists thus climb directly from the village of Vyskeř. From here, it is less than half a kilometer and 80 meters of ascent to the top. Along the way, they can see an interesting church in Vyskeř, a wooden bell tower and a chapel on top. However, the view from the top is now quite limited – practically only the ruins and the Kozákov massif are visible.
Church with a wooden bell tower in Vysker
If you come to the village of Vyskeř by car, you will not find many parking spaces here. One of the few options is at the entrance to the farm just below the church. There is a really beautiful view of it in the afternoon.
Wooden bell tower in the cemetery
Perhaps more than tourists here you will meet locals who came to remember the cemetery for their loved ones, which is adjacent to the church. The beautiful wooden bell tower is very typical for the Bohemian Paradise
The Way of the Cross
Behind the church, a hiking trail in the woods disappears and you can follow a nice classic Stations of the Cross leading to the top of the hill.
Jesus Christ waiting for the resurrection
The Way of the Cross ends interestingly with a carved chamber in the rock, where a statue of Jesus Christ rests, waiting for the resurrection.
Three crosses
On the eastern side of the hill, just below the summit, are three interesting crosses.
Vyskeře peak with a chapel
The top of Vyskere is a relatively romantic place, but you would expect the views a little better. Anyway, there are benches, so you can easily relax here. Moreover, it is not a very busy place for the conditions of the Bohemian Paradise.
View of Tábor
The view is mostly only to the east. You can see through the fields in the distance Tábor.
View of the ruins
The view of the symbol of the Bohemian Paradise – Ruins is also interesting. On this side, however, they do not have their typical appearance.
