Amazing view into the pass Yanayacu
Olimpica trek belongs among the shortest in the mountain range Cordillera Blanca. But this does not change much about the fact that you will enjoy here very beautiful views in the area of the highest mountain in the Peruvian Andes, Huascaran. In addition, this trek is one of the less frequently walked and is thus ideal for those who like to wander in abandoned places.
Day 1
Over Punta Olimpica to basecamp
Olimpica trek has a very interesting beginning in high pass Punta Olimpica (4 920 m asl), which can be easily reached by a regular bus route from Carhuaz. Directly in front of you open a wonderful panorama of the highest mountain in Peru – Huascaran. Then follows a descent into basecamp on upland meadow and associated relax with mountain views directly from the tent.

Day 2
Ascent to the pass Punta Yanayacu
The second day awaits you spectacular ascent into the pass Punta Yanayacu with views of Huascaran and amazing tops of Nevado Chopicalqui and Nevado Ulta. Moreover, along the way is also picturesque lake Yanayacu, in which mirror the surrounding peaks.

Day 3
Descent through the valley Ulta
The third day is about the return. You can go through the entire valley Ulta up to Carhuaz with views of Huascaran or hitchhike along the way, if you find these 30 km with all the baggage too much for one day.
