Devil's teeth behind the Arctic Circle
One of the most beautiful rock formations on the island of „Senja“: [https://www.gigaplaces.com/oblast-senja/] is Okshornan, which is called the Devil's Teeth or the Devil's Jaw due to its pointed shapes.
Tungeneset Viewpoint
The most famous view of Okshornan is a place called Tungeneset. The prospect is very easily accessible and undemanding. A wooden footbridge leading directly from the parking lot will take you a few meters to a rocky plateau with beautiful and dramatic views.
Mirroring
Seawater occasionally remains in many of the rock depressions, and the Okshornan Mountains are perfectly reflected in its surface.
Ersfjord beach
Just three kilometers from the viewpoint Tungeneset is the beach Ersfjord, which is a fantastic starting point for the most famous hikes on the island „Senja“: [https://www.gigaplaces.com/oblast-senja/] including the amazing ascent to the mountain „Segla“: [https://www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-segla/].
Gold toilets
There is also a local attraction on the beach – golden toilet :-) There is also hot water inside, so it is possible to rinse a bit here, but definitely do not expect a bathroom in a five-star hotel.
Camping on the beach
From a three-week trip to Norway, camping on Ersfjord Beach was the most romantic and peaceful of all. Thanks to the fact that the sun does not set here in summer, you do not have to deal with time and you can get up at any hour and adjust the plan according to the weather forecast – but rain is very common here.
Dramatic landscape
Despite the frequent rainy days, the local landscape has its unmistakable charm. Especially when the clouds are not too low to cover the tips of sharp ridges.
