An interesting temple near Pashupatinath

Almost everyone who visits Nepal's Kathmandu will take a trip to the most famous Pashupatinath temple. Only a small part of them will go a few hundred meters further to the top of the hill, where there are a number of small temples headed by the most famous Gorakhnath Mandir, which is also definitely worth seeing.
Stairs to the top of the hill
Pashupatinath Temple is located in the valley of the Bagmati River, so a long staircase awaits us from it. After a while, we continue mostly with the locals, because other tourists turn to only different views of Pashupatinath and few people go to the top of the hill. Even the staircase itself is quite interesting

Hilltop
Finally we are at the top of the hill, where there are dozens of small temples in various degrees of decay. There are also several beautiful trees

Macaques
It is another of the several places in Kathmandu where macaques occur in large numbers, so be sure not to take a snack from your backpack or you will lose it and the monkeys will scratch you.

Walk between the temples
You can explore it here for a relatively long time, because the top of the hill is quite extensive and interwoven with paths. Some of the buildings are already completely absorbed by vegetation

City view
In the northeastern part of the hill there is a view to the north of the city

Gorakhnath Mandir
The most important monument on this walk, or side trip from Pashupatinah, is the Gorakhnath Mandir temple, where every local must take a picture of the golden trident.
