Death Valley NP - Dante's View

Dante's View was named after the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, who in his work The Divine Comedy describes hell as a place where everything is on fire and where suffering reigns. The view from Dante's View is truly impressive and can resemble a picture of hell.

There is a stunning view from the observation deck, located on the crest of the Black Mountains in Death Valley National Park, California. It is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the park and offers stunning views of Death Valley and the surrounding mountain range. The place is perfect for taking pictures and watching the sunset.

The advantage of this viewpoint is that you can drive directly to it by car, the parking lot is located directly on the terrace of the viewpoint. There is a turnoff from the main road leading to the viewpoint, and the last section is quite steep and only suitable for passenger cars.

The view from Dante's View is truly impressive. The scenery is dramatic and breathtaking. In the distance stretch the white salts of Badwater Basin, reminiscent of a desert desert. High mountains and rock formations rise in the surrounding mountains.

Thanks to the excellent location of the observation deck, it is possible to see several important points of the park, such as the Badwater Basin, the vast salt flats, the Panamint Mountains and the highest mountain of the National Park, Telescope Peak (3369 m above sea level).
