White Carpathians on a bicycle
One of the most valuable areas in the entire White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area is the Čertoryje meadows, which were declared a National Nature Reserve in 1987. A large complex of over 300 ha of meadows in the area between the village of Radějov and the state border with Slovakia. These are the largest flowery white Carpathian meadows with a high proportion of critically endangered plant species (50 legally protected), especially orchids. Scattered trees-oaks, lindens, brooks and more create the impression of a large English park.
Route
Radějov - Čertoryje - ridge of the White Carpathians - Čupy - Zlatnícka dolina - Mlýnky -
We left the car in Radějov and continue to combine roads with bicycle signs. However, in order to get to Čertoryjské louky, we have to climb the green tourist sign behind the Lučina reservoir. It's a bit of a riser, but it can be combined in different ways.

We are starting to climb to the border of the Czech Republic / Slovakia – White Well … the local well is repaired, but the water does not flow from it

there are several cycle paths along the ridge
The White Carpathians
After crossing the state borders, which lead constantly up and down, mostly through beech or mixed forest, when we already have enough fences and we also have enough challenging terrain, we descend along a nice forest road to Koliba at the mouth of Zlatnícká dolina – the only snack on the way.
Mlýnky / Kostolnica
From Koliba we first climb the blue, in the middle there will be a beautiful asphalt road (which we have a shortage of today) and so we will take a detour, but with beautiful views, along the Great Skalický circuit to the Kostolnica reservoir, which is located on Sudoměřický stream near the settlement Mlýnky near Sudoměřice. The area of the reservoir is 6 ha. The water reservoir offers opportunities for recreation, fishing and cycling. It is certainly interesting that the state border between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic passes through the center of the dam. Therefore, the dam also has two names – Czech and Slovak.
The inhabitants are mountain huts
On the way from Mlýnky we drive through beautiful meadows with sheep (therefore sheep cheese everywhere) and through the vineyards we head back to the car in Radějov. In total it was about 40km, but with a relatively large elevation gain. In addition, if the cyclist is also a duck at the same time, he will suffer a bit on this route, because there is a ridge of the White Carpathians with caches about 200m apart and it is really impossible to combine the whole bike with the bike :)
Finally
one more moment from Čertoryja, which literally wraps you around with its captivating charm and you will want to return here … for example in the spring for orchids.
