If you travel between Cordoba and Seville, be sure to make a stop in the picturesque historic town of Carmona. Here you will find beautiful streets with many churches and a monumental gate to the city center.

Plaza Blas Infante

The Blas Infante Plaza is an ideal place to start your tour. Although the square itself is just a fountain in the middle of the roundabout, there is a beautiful view of the Church of San Pedro with the dominant bell tower 54 meters high, which is such a reduced copy of the Seville Giralda. The church itself is worth a visit.

Puerta Sevilla Gate

The entrance to the historic part of the city is guarded by a double gate, or the whole fortress, which is called Puerta Sevilla. It looks nice even nearby, but for better photos and views you have to go across the Blaz Infante square to the church of San Pedro, or climb the bell tower ..

Carmony's white streets

From the Seville Gate there are several streets with white houses – just choose.

San Fernando Square

The center of the old town is the relatively green square of San Fernando. It is around 300 meters from the Seville Gate. An ideal place to exhale or have a snack. The square itself is surrounded by exhibition houses.

At the ruins of the castle

At the eastern end of Carmona, high above the valley, stand the ruins of the Alcazar del Rey Don Pedro. Next door is the Royal Palace and the Parador de Carmona.

View of Carmona

To the north of the castle is an unimproved plot serving as a temporary parking lot. There is a pretty nice view of the church towers of Carmon. Of course, the view from the castle tower would be much better, it's a pity that the castle is closed
