If you want to save more than 700 meters of ascent and get relatively quickly from the Samnaun valley to the interior of the mountains, be sure to use the cable car from the town of Ravaisch to a place called Alp Trider Sattel. The cable car leads over the observation hill of Che d'Mot, where there is also a gondola pole up to the summit plateau. The ride itself offers a number of beautiful views of both the mountains and the valley.

The cable car building is on the other side of the river and has a large parking lot (free of charge). Ravaisch itself is a little higher in a place where the sun has been shining since morning.

View of Che d'Mot

From the outside, you can't see the destination of the cable car, because the small hill of Che d'Mot lies directly on Ravaisch

The picturesque Samnaun valley

In this part, the valley is very picturesque and relatively flat, which is why people settled here a long time ago. Closer to the Inn, however, it is wild and the road here has a lot of twists and turns.

Above Ravaisch

We finally start and after a short while we already have the town below us

First view of Alp Trider Sattel

Finally, we have a wooded hill behind us and a beautiful view opens up to the destination of our journey – the Alp Trider Sattel. The upper station itself stands on the edge of the massif, so the views directly from the station are worth it.

View to the southwest

To the southwest, you can see the peaks that separate this previously isolated area from the rest of Switzerland.

View to the east

The view to the east is beautiful, where the valley first slowly and then sharply descends towards the Inn

View of the gorge

If you don't want to go back by cable car, there are several options for going back down to Ravaische, one of them is an adrenaline-filled descent to the gorge, which can also be seen from the cable car.

Alp Trider Sattel (2,488m)

We are finally at the destination of our first stage, at an altitude of almost 2,500 meters above sea level. There is also a restaurant with a viewing terrace right next to the cable car.

Playground

Alp Trider Sattel is built on the edge of the massif, so it falls sharply into the valley – on the other side the terrain is much flatter. There is also quite a nice children's playground.
