A trip to the end of the world
Land of Fire, for some just a starting point for a trip to Antarctica, for some the beginning or end of a great journey through South America. Anyway, it's an interesting, rugged area at the very southern end of Patagonia. Here is an itinerary of what can be done here.
Day 1 - 2: Tour of Ushuaia and surroundings
The center of the Land of Fire
The starting point for trips around Tierra del Fuego is Ushuaia. You can get here most often by air from Buenos Aires or by bus from Punta Arenas in Chile. There is not much to see in the city itself, just a few interesting wooden buildings. However, you can walk directly to the mountains to the Martial Glacier or take a boat trip on the Beagle Channel.

Day 3 - Trip to Tierra del Fuego National Park
A tour of the typical landscape of the Land of Fire
Just a short distance from Ushuaia, easily accessible by tourist bus, lies the Tierra del Fuego National Park. You can do basic walks here one day, see. hike to Lapataia Bay or to the Hito XXIV. If you want a longer ascent, a hike to the top of Cerro Guanaco is ideal.
