Hike around Lagunas Mellizas
From Mirador to Pudeto
In the national park Torres del Paine is a beautiful landscape not only in the area of trekking trails, but also along gravel road connecting the entrance to the park with a pier in Pudeto. If you want to enjoy the most beautiful parts of this road, it is ideal to get off the excursion bus about 7 km before Pudeto in the place of big outlook of Cuernos del Paine and set out from there to the pier on foot. You may not meet a soul on your way, but it can also be quite crowdy since travel agencies often make here their stops for shooting during moto tours.
Monumental towers of Cuernos del Paine
Once you get off the bus, you will first be captivated by the outlook of monumental towers of Cuernos del Paine, which exceed the surrounding landscape by more than 2.5 kilometers.
Lagoon under the Mirador
Directly below the outlook is an unnamed lake in the shape of a kidney, which is also easily accessed. Except for Cuernos del Paine there are also visible the winds of the road on the left and on the right big lake Nordenskjold.

The road leads through scantily-covered gently wavy landscape that was once covered by a huge glacier. The views of Torres are still great.

After a while begins a bit boring part, when the small road “disappears” for more than two kilometers between the ridges and there are minimum views then.

Just before the end of the walk you will get to the pair of lagoons Mellizas.
