Area Těrský Alatau

Together with the Kyrgyz ridge above Bishkek, part of the Tér Alatau mountains in central Tian Shan are the most visited mountains in Kyrgyzstan. This more than 300-kilometer-long mountain range extending directly south of the Kyrgyz Sea, Issyk Kul, is dominated by the 5,000-meter Karakol peak. Tourists most often go to the beautiful lake Ala kol, although there are really a lot of opportunities for hiking.
