As in all of Guatemala, volcanoes play a key role here. however, the entire Lake Atitlán is a remnant of a huge volcano. The most suitable for tourists is the volcano San Pedro (3,020 m above sea level). However, the highest is the Atitlán volcano (3,535 m above sea level)
