Wolf pits are located in the Ore Mountains near the village of Horní Blatná, below the Blatenský Vrch lookout tower. The pits were created by mining activities during the extraction of tin ores. Due to the influence of specific air regimes, ice is formed in the pits. The Wolf Pit, originally the Wolfgang mine, is over 120 meters long, about 14 meters wide and up to 25 meters deep.
