Castle in St. Andrews is another place where a tourist visits the cathedral. It is a beautiful picturesque ruin on the coast of the city. It was built at the end of the 12th century. During the struggle for Scottish independence, the castle was demolished several times and rebuilt. At one time it also functioned as a prison.
