Glencoe, who wouldn't know. It is considered one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, which was in its current position formed by glaciers. A place full of stories like the Glencoe Massacre. Today it is a popular place for tourists, climbers and filmmakers. More than one of the feature films originated in this valley. It is beautiful due to its steep hills and is sometimes nicknamed the Wailing Valley.

Glacial valley

Glencoe, who wouldn't know. It is considered one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, which was in its current position formed by glaciers. A place full of stories like the Glencoe Massacre. Today it is a popular place for tourists, climbers and filmmakers. More than one of the feature films originated in this valley. It is beautiful due to its steep hills and is sometimes nicknamed the Wailing Valley. We leave Loch Lomond and on the outskirts of Glencoe it is about 100km. But it's not boring 100km most of the way goes around the lake and when it leaves, we get to the heaths and vast moors and wetlands and this area is called Rannoch Moor. The first hills are already stretching in the background. The closer we get the more Glencoe is amazed. There are several stops in the valley with the possibility to go on a hike in the mountains. However, it is necessary to walk on well-trodden roads, which are paved, because the surroundings of the roads are very wet and it is easy to leave shoes in them. Upon arrival in the valley, the dominant feature is the mountain, which is a local icon and is also an icon of Scotland. In short, the Scottish Matterhorn. The next stop, which I would popularly name U Domečku, is the first. Another is to the valley of Etive Mor, followed by U tří vodopádů, another very popular Three Sisters and the last one is at Jezera. Everyone will come to their own here. We did a light hike to the Etive Mor Valley, which offers a beautiful view of the remains of the glacier as it formed the mountains. We ended the day in the Red Squirrel camp, where it is possible to make a fire. Believe me, in this valley a stick, you don't mind.
