Travelling by plane

Petr Liška Wrote 01.12.2013:

Main Airport: Basically, the only large airport in French Polynesia to which all international routes go is in Papeete, Tahiti. The most common connections are to Paris, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland. The airport is located directly at the southern end of Papeete, only about 5 km from the city center. Other airports: Due to its geographical location, domestic air transport is very widespread (see the map of domestic connections). The busiest tourist routes are from Tahiti to Bora Bora and to other larger islands such as Raiatea, Huahine and Maupiti. National carriers: In French Polynesia, Air Tahiti is the only carrier. International connections are provided by Air TahitiNui. By air from the Czech Republic to French Polynesia: there is no direct air connection from the Czech Republic to French Polynesia. It flies most often via London / Paris / Amsterdam to Los Angeles (Air New Zealand / KLM / AirFrance). The journey takes at least about 30 hours with transfers. The usual ticket prices are 35–40 thousand crowns.

Tahiti-Mo´orea Ferry: Mo´orea is a very easily accessible island, as it is connected not only by air, but mainly by a short ferry to neighboring Tahiti. Timetable HERE.
