They been there:

The town of Drvenik is located on the Makarska Riviera near the town of Gornja Vala, which can be easily reached. Drvenik is important mainly because there is a ferry to the island of Hvar. However, this means that there are more people and especially cars in such a small town than one would expect. For the same reason, the entrance to the water is not very slow, but very soon the water is so deep that it is impossible to see the bottom.

A walk around the town

Drvenik is a small town. There is no port, just a few small boats. There is a large main beach, which also has the largest concentration of restaurants.

Ferry

In contrast to small boats is a large ferry that goes to the only local pier. Depending on the number of cars, there is either only one (and the other stands in Drvenik, see photo) or two. Next to the pier there is another beach where there are fewer people. However, there is a much greater depth and a column of cars is behind the back of a person. On the other hand, you can swim and watch the ferry up close.

Walk

In Drvenik there is the possibility of walking along the coast, where there is also the possibility of swimming, but from concrete slabs with not very good access to the water.

City view

Another pleasant walk (but a little uphill) is to the view over the city. The journey there takes about 30 minutes by a slow walk on the road. In addition to a beautiful view of Drvenik, we can also find two historic cannons and an Ilirean cemetery on the lookout.

Gornja Vala

From Drvenik you can walk along the coast to the nearby town of Gornja Vala. The journey there takes less than half an hour. The local beach is larger, access to the water is slower, the waves are just bigger.
