Bernina is the highest mountain range of the Eastern Alps with many beautiful peaks and massive glaciers. One of the most beautiful trips with amazing trips is the cable car to a place called Diavolezza with the possibility of subsequent easy ascents to the adjacent mountains.

Cable car to Diavolezza

Cable car to the most beautiful view of Bernina

Altitude: 2 979 m / 9 774 ft

Perhaps the most famous cable car in the Bernina massif is the one leading to Diavolezza (2,978m). The starting point is the road leading to the Bernina Pass, about 9 kilometers southeast of the town of Pontresina. Along the cable car journey, there are beautiful views of the Livigno mountains lying in a northern direction. Ascent to Piz Trovat (3,146m)

Beautiful view of Bernina

Altitude: 3 146 m / 10 322 ft

The views from the top are absolutely amazing – the highest peaks of the Bernina mountain range are right in the palm of your hand. continue reading

3.
Ascent to Sass Queder (3,066m)

Nearest target from Diavolezzo

Altitude: 3 066 m / 10 059 ft

Sass Queder (3,066m) is one of the easiest Alpine 3,000m climbs because it is only 700 meters away along a simple path (even really small children can handle it) from the upper station of the Diavolezza cable car. The total elevation gain is just over 100 meters. You will of course have beautiful views of the main peaks of the Bernina mountain range, but also on the other side of the Livigno mountain range, which is not very visible from the cable car station. continue reading
