Hronov is located on the Metuja River at the southern end of the Jestřebí Mountains, which are part of the vast protected landscape area of Broumovsko. The city is famous for the fact that the famous Czech writer Alois Jirásek was born here. In addition, there are several nice sights to see, such as the impressive bell tower at the All Saints' Church or the impressive Hronov elementary school.

Bell tower at the All Saints Church in Hronov

We can start our tour of the city in the northern, quiet part of Hronov. One of the most important monuments of the city is located here – the beautiful bell tower at the All Saints Church, built at the beginning of the 17th century. It impresses with the combination of masonry and wood.

Church of All Saints

Next to the interesting bell tower, the local baroque church of All Saints gets a little lost. The picturesque Růžencová garden is located nearby, which is actually a park on the site of a former cemetery.

Aloise Jirásek Park

You can find the leisure center in Hronov in the Aloise Jiráska park. There is a children's playground, a gym, even an entrance to the Metuje River if anyone wants to cool off in the summer. A pleasant place for relaxation or sports. Of course, there is also a monument to Alois Jirásk

Square Čs. of the army

The last place worth visiting in Hronov is the very center of the city, located in the vicinity of us. Czech of the army. The massive tower of the local primary school dominates the square. Then there is also a nice column with a statue of the Virgin Mary and the Jirásk Theater.
If you go hiking in Broumovsko, be sure to make at least a short stop in Hronov.
