Historic town near Manětín
Today I will give you a tip for an amazing trip near Manětín. We will visit the historic town of Rabštejn nad Střelou together, which was declared a town monument zone in 1992.
Rabštejn nad Střelou is located about 7 kilometers from Manětín. Right at the beginning of this historic town, we can see the ruins of the Sychrov castle on the left side, from which the Dull Tower has been preserved. We will park near this ruin and continue on foot along the green tourist sign, which will take us around the ruins of Rabštejn Castle from the 14th century, around the Servite Monastery and the Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, which was built between 1766 and 1767 by architect Alselm Lurag.

The people of Lažan beautified Rabštejn with a number of monumental sculptural works – the Czech Baroque.

We will walk through the square, where Baroque statues are scattered. And along the main street we go on to the interesting sights of this amazing place where time stood still.
Rabštejn nad Střelou
We walk around the city fortifications through the remains of the Lower Gate. On the city fortifications are planted rock gardens – nettle. Such was my grandmother on a rock.
Rabštejn nad Střelou
Around the city fortifications there are tiny timbered and half-timbered cottages. Some have a sign on the facade with the inscription cultural monument of the Czech Republic. They are stacked very close to each other. And between them rises the Loreto Chapel from 1671.

Not far from the remains of the Lower Gate there is a reconciliation cross from 1584.
Rabštejn nad Střelou
Not far from the Reconciliation Cross is a Gothic stone bridge, probably from the 14th century. Unfortunately, it was being repaired and there was a scaffolding on it, so there is no photo. We can still visit the Jewish cemetery from the 18th century. And we're coming back. In the square, I recommend having an amazing coffee and ice cream in the former gendarmerie station. Today, Rabštejn nad Střelou is considered to be the smallest Czech historical town. At present, it officially falls under Manětín.
