A paradise for lovers of blue frogs
An easy trip south of Brno to the floodplain forest, interwoven with meanders and wetlands of the river Šatava. At the turn of March and April, you can only literally see blue-colored frogs, a male sharp-nosed frog.
Přísnotický forest
Through the village of Přísnotice we head to the football field, from which we turn right along a wide carriageway to Přísnotice Forest.
Local residents
Narrow trails invite you to explore the hidden corners of the forest. The deer let us go for about 30 meters, then they lose patience with us.
Blooming forest
Early spring brings a number of flowers to the forest, such as crooks and violets.
Prince's Forest
We continue on a straight asphalt road about 1.5 km SE towards the locality of wetlands and ponds of various depths with typical willows on their edges.
Bufo bufo
We are a place where frog lovers come to their senses. Common toads thrive in the local wetlands.
Wetland fauna
We walk along the ponds and discover local animals.
Blue frogs
The main goal of this easy walk is interesting, for which it is important to see the exact timing. Only for a few days in early spring do the males of the sharp-nosed frog (also peat) turn blue. These frogs occur only in some, especially shallow parts of wetlands. It's an amazing spectacle.
