Cottage in the most unusual place in the Czech Republic
About 20 km southwest of Pilsen there is a very unusual building, which is a grateful destination for photographers and tourists. A wooden log cabin is built on the granite pillar of the former railway bridge over the river Radbuza. The original railway line to the mines near Chotěšov was abolished in the 1950s and the iron bridge structure was removed, but the bridge pillar in the middle of the river was preserved. This building, which is completely unique in the Czech Republic, stands out on it.
Log cabin from 1993
The log cabin was built on a pillar by boys from the Young Tourist Club in about 1993. Due to the fact that there is no road or stairs leading to the cottage, it was an extraordinary work. In addition to transporting ships, they also had to build a small cable car, along which they transported building materials. It is said that young enthusiasts built it in two weeks.
A romantic look that disappears
The cottage has fallen into disrepair over the years, but still offers a very romantic view. Anyone who wants to enjoy it will have to hurry. It is planned to liquidate it and restore the bridge over which a new cycle path will lead. This unique, very photogenic structure is clearly visible from both banks of the river.
