Cadolzburg lookout tower
The Cadolzburg lookout tower is about 20 km west of Nuremberg. Cadolzburg is also the final station of the Fürth local and the lookout tower owes its origin. It was built in 1893 to attract passengers to this city and thus occupy the newly created local. The lookout tower is about 800 meters from the station, now surrounded by a quarter of family houses. Admission is 50 cents, which is collected in a money box … that no one is guarding. The reward will be an ascent of 143 steps and a view of the countryside, for example, to the nearby castle Cadolzburg. And when you look at the lookout tower, you can easily deduce its nickname „Bleistift“ or pencil.
