A night in a campsite on one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey
It is definitely worth paying ALL inclusive or half board at the hotel and taking a boat here, at least for one night, to rest and relax. We didn't want to go back at all. The comfort when all the tourist boats leave, the wonderful morning before they arrive again is priceless. And I'm not even writing about the evening, when you buy a bottle of wine and a beer, it's fun!
The boat from Ölüdeniz departs directly from the beach
The fastest and cheapest way to get to Butterfly Valley Beach is by boat from Ölüdeniz.
The return ticket is for 100 lira, price from June 5, 2022. It doesn't matter when you go back, you get a card and then they take it from you on the way back.
Departure from Ölüdeniz is at 11 at 14 and the last at 18.00. It goes back at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. However, you won't want to go back at all!
Butterfly Valley Beach Camp Reception
Upon arrival, many people who get off the boat head immediately to the campsite reception. Accommodation is possible either in a small or a large tent. In a standard bungalow, in a bungalow with a terrace, or in a bungalow with a toilet. We chose accommodation in a standard bungalow. We slept over from Sunday to Monday and many people left the beach on Sunday, on the weekend it is more crowded and then the bungalows can be occupied and all you have left is the tent. ATTENTION: a passport is required for accommodation.
Camp price list
Accommodation price list from 5/6/2022 in Turkish lira. The price includes half board. You can pay by card.
The tents are equipped with a mattress, pillows and a blanket including sheets, BEWARE they leak in the rain. It rained during the night and in the morning they wiped down all the tents and dried everything in the sun. Therefore, it is better to choose a bungalow as we did. A standard bungalow is equipped with a double bed, pillows and a blanket including bed linen. The bungalow has installed electricity, there are sockets and AIR CONDITIONING! In most cases, the bungalow includes a roommate in the form of a lizard.
Food at Butterfly Valley Campground
The half board was sufficient, we ate our fill. Breakfast poorer, served from 8 am to 10:30 am. For dinner, a thick excellent soup and a Turkish dish of MANTY pasta with sour cream and something, we couldn't describe what, but it was tasty and filling. Plus a vegetable salad and lots more. Dinner is available as a buffet from 20:00 until 22:30.
Toilets and Showers in the campsite at Butterfly Valley
Toilet and washroom in the campsite, everything clean, sprayed several times during the day with a hose and wiped with a squeegee. There is liquid soap in the dispenser at the sinks, warm water in the shower and toilet paper is always replenished in the toilet. Everything is free for those staying, for one-day tourists who are brought here for 2 hours by boat to use the toilet for 5 lira. It's enough to say that you're staying at a campsite and they'll apologize, that WC grandpa sitting there doesn't know who lives here. But they also try to collect an entrance fee if you go that way to the waterfall, because it leads past the toilets, so be quick to say I live in the campsite and they will apologize and not ask for anything from you.
Night and morning
It was a beautiful night in the cabins, at dawn the roosters crowed from all sides, which are just as plentiful here as the hens and are constantly moving around the campsite and restaurants. The geese were quacking and the birds were singing. Just the morning as it should be. And even the Muezzin calling the Muslims to prayer could be heard here in the morning from the village on the peaks.
Butterfly Valley Beach
What was the most beautiful thing about our whole two-day trip was probably the deserted beach after all the cruise ships had taken away the day-trippers and the magical morning before the boats with tourists arrived again. It's like a little paradise on earth here, so don't hesitate and try to visit too. You definitely won't regret it.
