Article Boating Museum
A unique museum by the river Sázava
There is a unique museum in the town of Zruč nad Sázavou, 63 km southeast of Prague. It is located in the grounds of a skilled castle and may even be unique in the world – an exhibition of boats and everything else related to boating and boating sports.
Exhibition of ships
There are more than 30 different boats on display, showing the evolution from the old wooden ribs to the new laminate boats. There are also folding kayaks, all-wooden and inflatable boats.
Exhibition of boating equipment
In addition to boats, there are also many other exhibits related to boating, such as boating equipment and camping equipment. Here you will find paddles, life jackets, helmets, duffel bags, barrels, clothing and other equipment.
Boating camp
There is also an example of a historic boating camp.
History of rowing
A number of books, diplomas and other materials describing the history of rowing are displayed in several showcases.
Laminate boat production workshop
In an improvised workshop, it is possible to learn about the process of manufacturing laminate boats.
Weir model
The small model shows how water behaves on different types of weirs.
Boat swing
Even small children will enjoy themselves, as they can swing in the unusual rowing swing in front of the museum.
