There are no roads to Khumbu yet and the rivers are navigable, so you only have to settle for beautiful sightseeing flights here.

There is only one airline to Khumbu: Kathmandu – Lukla, which is very scenic in itself.

You can also see the entire Khumbu area, or Mount Everest and another range of 8,000 meters from the window of a small plane. These trips depart from Kathmandu Airport almost every day early in the morning. It can be arranged at any travel agency in Thamel.
