  • Rent a car or motorbike: You need to have a local driving license issued at the local police station on the presentation of home driving license.
  • Rent a bicycle or bicycle with a motor: You can circle the island partly by pedaling and partly having a rest during driving.
  • Taxi
  • Circle-island buses operate around the coast in both directions – clockwise and anticlockwise. They depart from Cook´s Corner in Avarua and run every hour in each direction to approximately 4pm, later much less frequently.

32 km long road leading along the coast is known as the Ara Tapu (Sacred Rd).  Second largest road connecting the interior is the Ara Metua (Ancient Rd).  The island´s interior can be crossed only on foot.

Caution: People drive on the left in Cook Islands!
