Leh and valley of Indus Weather and season

Generally it is said that the best weather for visiting the Ladakh Leh or is from mid-June to mid-September.
- End of June has the advantage that the mountains are still covered with snow and make brown colored ridges more interesting. On the other hand, it may happen that the road passes are still covered in snow and most of the trekking routes are impassable because of high status of glacial rivers.
- Trekking is better at end of the tourist season (late August, early September), when there is less water in the rivers.
- On the other hand, winter in Leh offers a unique experience and complete peace of mind.
