The most famous shopping center
The Osša Bazaar, located almost three kilometers west of the center of Bishkek, is one of the traditional tourist stops that reduce the time before traveling to the mountains or before leaving back home. It is a classic Central Asian bazaar with a large selection of dried fruits, nuts, spices, breads and meat. Unfortunately, the quantity of Chinese goods is increasing here as well. More than a tourist attraction, it is simply a great shopping place for locals, of whom thousands take turns here during the day.
Sweets shop
You can easily get to the Ošský Bazaar by taxi or on foot as part of a walk through the city. Thanks to the square floor plan of the streets, you will find your way around Bishkek very quickly. The bazaar is located at the western end of Kiev Street (a block one block south of Chuy's main street). After walking through the gate, you will come across a lot of shops offering sweet bakery products.
Offer dried fruits and nuts
For lovers of dried fruits and nuts, it is literally a paradise – there is a lot of dried apricots, dates, raisins everywhere.
Local specialities
In addition to classic products, such as various muffins, available anywhere in the world, you will also find local pastry, heavily sweetened, specialties such as chak chak.
Kyrgyz bread Naan
The Kyrgyz bread Naan looks almost like a work of art. It is not only nice, but also very tasty.
Sale of meat
In Asian terms, the section devoted to the sale of meat looks very clean and hygienic. Here, however, the tourist does not buy much. You can also find a wide selection of fruits, especially melons, on the market.
