The eastern fjords, the easternmost part of Iceland, are far from being the most visited. Nevertheless, they have their unmistakable charm. To the east of Iceland, these are long beautiful fjords and pleasant green plains, to the south a glacial landscape and to the northwest a volcanic landscape. One of the most beautiful places in the area is the deserted fjord Mjóifjördur, with many waterfalls, rock formations and lighthouses.
