Travelling by bus

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

The area has three main entrances available by frequent bus service:

  • Uyuni: the main entrance from Bolivia. Dusty and windy town available by connections from Potosi or La Paz
  • Chile's San Pedro de Atacama: popular starting place for those who crisscross South America from north to south or vice versa. Road to Bolivia passes through a unique and extremely high-lying border crossing Hito Cajon
  • Tupiza: the most interesting of the possible options. Tupiza has also very charming neighborhood, where you can also spend a few interesting days.

Transport by off-road car

There are mostly 6 tourists on the jeep + driver + cook. Three tourists sitting in the second row have a significantly worse outlook and comfort and therefore people in the jeep change their position.
