The capital of Poland
Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland, in 2019 it had 1,777,972 inhabitants (urban agglomeration up to 3 million). It is located in central Poland, on the middle course of the Vistula River (the longest tributary of the Baltic Sea). Almost the whole city was during II. World War II destroyed by bombing. The inhabitants restored most of the significant monuments according to plans preserved from the 18th century. The dominant feature of the city is the building of the Palace of Culture and Science. There are many parks and gardens in the city. Fryderyk Chopin, the most famous Polish native, also comes from here.
