The most famous folk architecture of Slovakia
Vlkolínec is located in the Veľká Fatra Mountains at an altitude of 718 m asl. It represents the most preserved and most complete complex of original folk buildings in Slovakia. For this uniqueness, it was declared a heritage reservation of folk architecture and subsequently enrolled on the UNESCO World Heritage List. There are a total of 55 timbered wooden houses, two-storey belfry, timbered gravel well, and a Baroque-classical church with an adjacent cemetery.
